With the iSYS 1, there is no need to have "hands in the beam"

  • The iSYS1 is a novel compact robotic targeting system to assist interventional radiology procedures. It allows the radiologist to improve accuracy, decrease procedure time, and reduce dose to both patients and personnel.
  • Because it is controlled remotely using a handheld joystick, the Radiologist can operate it at a safe distance from the beam, using real time fluoro trajectory guidance
  • The iSYS1 supports OEM fluoro navigation planning SW, allowing the Radiologist to preplan the needle path prior to the procedure

Workflow

    Setting up the system
  • In just a few steps the iSYS1 is attached to the treatment table and ready for use.

    Imaging and planning
  • 3D imaging and planning is done with the ConeBeam-CT Workstation.

    Attachment of the sterile needle guide
  • In one simple step the sterile needle guide is attached to the needle guide extension on the robot

    Marker inlay and gross positioning
  • After gross postioning of the robot - the marker inlay is inserted into the needle guide.

    Fine positioning under CB-CT fluoroscopy
  • Micro-positioning of the needle guide is done remotely from a safe distance using the joystick

    Needle insertion and guidance
  • After attachment of the needle insert, the iSYS1 allows stable and precise guidance along the planned trajectory.

    Verification and quality assurance
  • Needle insertion under fluoroscopic guidance ("progression view")
    The correct needle position can be verified before, during, and after treatment.
